What to Do When You Can't Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
The comparison usually starts before you notice it — a scroll, a glance at a colleague's title, and suddenly your own life feels smaller. Catching the trigger is most of the battle.
When it happens, ask is this really the same starting point, the same year, the same circumstances? — usually it isn't. Then swap the question from "am I behind them?" to "am I closer to where I want to be than I was last year?", the only comparison that actually tells you anything.
The point
Catch the comparison trigger, question whether it's even a fair one, then measure yourself against your own last year instead of someone else's today.
