Your Bedroom Should Be Cool, Dark, and Boring

H howtolive.guide ·

Your brain needs clear signals that the bedroom is for sleep. Keep the temperature around 16-19°C (60-67°F) — your core body temperature needs to drop for sleep to begin. Use blackout curtains or a sleep mask; even small amounts of light suppress melatonin production. Remove screens, work materials, and anything that makes your brain think it's time to be alert. The more boring your bedroom is, the faster you'll fall asleep in it.

The point
A cool, dark, and unstimulating bedroom sends your brain the clearest possible signal that it's time to sleep.
