Resentment Is Often an Unspoken Request

H howtolive.guide ·

When resentment builds, it usually means there's something you need but haven't asked for -- or asked for and were ignored. Resentment is the tax on silence. It grows in the gap between what you expect and what you say out loud. Before blaming the other person, ask yourself: did I actually communicate what I needed, clearly and directly? Sometimes the answer is no, and the resentment is your own signal to finally speak up. It doesn't excuse being ignored, but it gives you somewhere to start.

The point
If you are resentful, there is probably something you need but have not asked for -- resentment is the tax on silence.
