Emotions Are Contagious — Choose Your Environment Carefully

H howtolive.guide ·

Emotional contagion is real neuroscience. Mirror neurons in your brain cause you to subtly mimic and internalize the emotional states of people around you — without realizing it. Spending significant time with chronically anxious or angry people will gradually raise your own baseline stress levels. This isn't about cutting people off. It's about being honest with yourself about what you're absorbing. Who you're surrounded by shapes how you feel — and, over time, how you think. Choose deliberately.

The point
The emotions of people around you are literally contagious — being conscious of your environment is a form of self-care.
