Ask "Is This Useful?" Instead of "Is This True?"

Anxious thoughts are often technically plausible — yes, you could get fired, lose someone, or fail. But plausible isn't the same as likely, and likely isn't the same as worth dwelling on. The better question is: is thinking about this right now actually helping you? If the thought isn't leading to a concrete action or decision, it's not problem-solving. It's just your mind running the same loop with the volume turned up. When a worry arrives, try asking: what would I do differently if this thought were definitely true? If the answer is nothing — let it pass.
The point
If a thought isn't leading to action, the question isn't whether it's true — it's whether it's useful.
