Do Not Accept a Vague Role with Vague Success Criteria

If no one can clearly explain what success looks like in the first six months, you're walking into a trap. Vague roles lead to shifting goalposts, unfair evaluations, and the constant feeling that you're falling short of invisible expectations. Before you accept, ask explicitly: what does a great first quarter look like? How will performance be measured? If the answers stay fuzzy, treat that as the answer.
The point
A role without clear success criteria is a role where you can never truly win -- clarify expectations before you start.
