How to Remove a Tick Safely Without Leaving the Head

Use fine-tipped tweezers and grip the tick as close to the skin surface as possible. Pull straight up with steady, even pressure — no twisting, no jerking. If the mouthparts break off, try to remove them with the tweezers; if you can't, leave them alone and let the skin heal. After removal, clean the bite area with rubbing alcohol or soap and water. Never use old folk methods — burning with a match, covering with nail polish, or smothering with petroleum jelly. These cause the tick to stress and regurgitate bacteria directly into your bloodstream, increasing infection risk.
The point
Use fine-tipped tweezers, pull straight up with steady pressure, and never burn, twist, or smother a tick.
