FOMO Is Fear of Your Own Choices

Fear of missing out isn't really about the party you didn't go to. It's fear that you chose wrong — that somewhere else, something better is happening, and you're the one who opted out of it. The antidote isn't doing more or saying yes to everything. It's learning to be present with what you chose — to trust that a quiet evening, a turned-down invitation, a different path is still a valid life. FOMO shrinks when you stop measuring your choices against an imaginary alternative.
The point
FOMO is really about not trusting your own decisions — the antidote is presence, not more activity.
