Discomfort Is Not a Sign You're Doing Something Wrong

H howtolive.guide ·

Starting therapy, having a hard conversation, setting a boundary for the first time — all of these feel uncomfortable. That discomfort often gets misread as a signal to stop, to back off, to conclude that this must not be right. But discomfort during growth is like soreness after exercise — it's not a warning, it's evidence. Something is being stretched, worked, changed. The useful question isn't "does this feel okay?" but rather "is this harmful, or is this just new?" Those two things feel remarkably similar from the inside.

The point
Discomfort during growth is evidence that something is changing — not a signal that you're doing it wrong.
