Training Through Pain Is How Small Injuries Become Chronic

There's a difference between discomfort and pain. Discomfort during exercise is normal — muscles burn, breathing is hard. But sharp, localized, or recurring pain is your body's alarm system, and ignoring it doesn't make you tough; it makes the problem worse. A minor tweak in your shoulder can become a rotator cuff tear. A sore knee can become chronic tendinitis. Rest one week now or lose three months later. If something hurts in a way that changes your form, stop. Get it assessed. Healing is not weakness.
The point
Pain during exercise is a warning — rest now for a week or risk months of forced recovery later.
