Notification Audit — Turn Off Everything That Is Not Truly Urgent

Most notifications exist to benefit the app, not you. Every ping pulls your attention, breaks your focus, and triggers a micro-decision: check now or ignore? Multiply that by dozens of apps and you are losing significant cognitive resources every day to things that could wait.
Do a full notification audit: go through every app on your phone and computer and ask one question — would it matter if I saw this two hours later? If yes, keep it. If no, turn it off. For most people, only calls, messages from close contacts, and calendar reminders genuinely need real-time alerts. Everything else is noise wearing an urgent costume.
The point
Most notifications benefit the app, not you — audit every app and keep only what would matter if you saw it two hours later.
