A Resume That Works Tells a Story, Not a List

H howtolive.guide ·

Most resumes are graveyards of bullet points that nobody reads past the first page. The ones that get callbacks do something different: they show impact, not just activity. "Managed a team" says nothing. "Led a team of five that reduced onboarding time by 40%" says everything.

Tailor every resume to the specific job. Read the posting, identify what they actually need, and make it obvious that you've done exactly that. Remove anything that doesn't support the story. One page is almost always enough. And please -- have someone else proofread it. Typos in a resume feel like showing up to an interview with food on your shirt.

The point
A strong resume focuses on impact over activity, tells a clear story about what you have done, and is tailored to each specific role.
