How to Cancel a Subscription That Makes It Deliberately Hard to Cancel

Some companies hide the cancel button behind layers of menus, force you to call during limited hours, or offer endless "retention" screens designed to wear you down. If a website makes cancellation unreasonably difficult, send a written cancellation via email or registered mail. State your name, account details, the service you're cancelling, and the effective date. In many jurisdictions, this is legally sufficient regardless of what their terms say.
If they continue to charge you after a written cancellation, dispute the charge through your bank or credit card company. Keep a copy of your cancellation letter and any proof of delivery — this is usually all your bank needs.
The point
If a company hides the cancel button, send a written cancellation by email or registered mail — and dispute further charges through your bank.
