Potential without consistent action is fantasy. You're not dating who someone could theoretically become -- you're dating who they are right now, today, in their daily choices. Don't plan your life around a version of someone that doesn't exist yet. If their potential hasn't turned into progress in the time you've known them, that gap between promise and reality is the most honest data you have.
