Don't Make Permanent Decisions Based on Temporary Emotions

H howtolive.guide ·

When you're at the peak of anger, grief, or panic, your brain is flooded with stress hormones that genuinely distort your perception. The situation feels more final, more catastrophic, and more personal than it actually is. Never quit, break up, send the angry email, or make a major financial decision in that state. Wait at least 24 hours. Not because the problem will disappear, but because you will be a different person — calmer, more clear-headed, better at weighing options. The chemical storm passes. What looks unbearable at 2am often looks manageable by morning.

The point
At peak emotion, your brain distorts reality — wait at least 24 hours before making any permanent decision.
