Reply to Ignored Emails by Forwarding Your Original to Show the Timeline

When someone doesn't respond to your email, don't write a completely new message from scratch. Forward your original email and add a brief note at the top: "Following up on my email from [date] below. Could you please let me know the status?" This shows the recipient the full timeline, reminds them of the context, and puts gentle but clear pressure.
A new email without context is easy to deprioritize. A forwarded chain showing your first attempt and the time that has passed is much harder to ignore. It's polite, professional, and effective.
The point
When following up on ignored emails, forward the original to show the timeline instead of writing from scratch.
