Follow Up in Writing After Every Verbal Agreement

H howtolive.guide ·

Verbal agreements are worth the paper they're not written on. After any phone call or meeting where something was agreed, send an email that starts with "As we discussed..." and lists the key points. This creates a paper trail, forces both parties to be precise, and eliminates the classic "I never said that" problem.

It takes two minutes and saves months of arguing. If the other party disagrees with your summary, they'll correct it — and now you have clarity. If they don't respond, your version stands as the record.

The point
After every verbal agreement, send a written summary — it creates a record and forces clarity on both sides.
