If someone doesn't bear the consequences of being wrong, their advice costs them nothing. A consultant who won't be around for the implementation, a pundit who never has to act on their predictions, a friend who risks nothing by urging you to take a leap. Always check: does this person have something to lose if their recommendation fails? The best advisors are those who eat their own cooking.
