What to Do If You Feel Unsafe in a Taxi or Rideshare

If something feels off mid-ride, call someone immediately and state your location out loud: "Hey, I'm in a white Toyota on Main Street heading east." This signals to the driver that someone knows where you are. Ask to be let out at the next busy, well-lit intersection — a gas station or restaurant is ideal. If the driver refuses to stop, don't stay silent: honk the horn, yell, roll down windows — do anything to attract attention from people outside. Your embarrassment is irrelevant; your safety is not.
The point
If a ride feels wrong, call someone loudly, share your location, and demand to be let out at a public place.
