Your Inner Critic Is Not Always Right

There's a voice in your head that knows exactly where to hit you hardest. It sounds like the truth because it uses your own memories, your own insecurities, your own voice. But just because it's loud and familiar doesn't mean it's accurate. Your inner critic is a pattern, not a prophet.
Next time that voice tells you that you're not smart enough, not ready, not the kind of person who succeeds — try asking: "Would I say this to someone I love?" If the answer is no, it's not honesty. It's cruelty wearing the mask of self-awareness. You can acknowledge the voice without obeying it.
The point
Your harshest internal voice feels like truth because it knows you well — but familiarity is not the same as accuracy.
