That vague urge to eat something may not be hunger at all. Dehydration and stress produce remarkably similar sensations — restlessness, trouble concentrating, a pull toward the kitchen. Before you reach for a snack, drink a glass of water and wait ten minutes. If you're still hungry, eat. If the feeling fades, it was something else.
