Don't Store Passwords in Notes Apps or Chat Messages

H howtolive.guide ·

It is tempting to save a password in your phone's notes app or text it to yourself for later. The problem is that notes apps typically have no encryption, sync to cloud services you may not control, and remain searchable on your device. Chat messages are backed up, forwarded, and stored on servers. You have essentially posted your password on a bulletin board.

Get a proper password manager — even the free tier of most major ones is enough. It encrypts your data, auto-fills when needed, and generates strong passwords you do not have to remember. The switch takes one afternoon and protects you for years.

The point
Notes apps and chat messages offer no real security for passwords — use a dedicated password manager instead.
