A Signature Is a Binding Agreement, Not an Acknowledgement of Receipt

Many people sign documents the way they tap "Accept" on a software update — reflexively, without reading. But a signature on a contract or official form is not a confirmation that you received the paper. It means you agree to every clause, condition, and obligation written above it. Courts don't care that you "didn't really read it." Your signature says you did.
Before you sign anything, pause. Read it. If you don't understand a paragraph, ask. If something feels wrong, say so before the pen touches paper. Once your signature is on the page, walking it back is expensive, slow, and often impossible. A few minutes of careful reading can save you months of regret.
The point
A signature legally means you agree to everything in the document — never sign without reading, because courts will hold you to it.
