Don't Let Urgency Pretend to Be Importance

H howtolive.guide ·

Urgent tasks scream for attention; important tasks wait quietly. The ringing phone, the unread notification, the approaching deadline — they all feel critical in the moment but often matter little in the long run. Meanwhile, the things that truly shape your life — health, relationships, learning, long-term projects — rarely feel urgent at all. If you only respond to urgency, you'll be busy every day and accomplish nothing that matters.

The point
Urgent tasks demand attention but rarely matter most — the truly important things almost never feel urgent.
