Your First Attempt Will Be Bad — That's the Process

H howtolive.guide ·

Expecting your first draft, first project, or first try to be good is one of the most reliable ways to never start. The first version exists to be improved, not admired. Every experienced creator knows their early work was rough — they just didn't let that stop them.

The gap between your taste and your ability is widest at the beginning. You can see what good looks like, but you can't produce it yet. That gap closes through repetition, not through waiting until you feel ready. Ship the bad version. It's the only bridge to the better one.

The point
Your first attempt is supposed to be rough — it exists to be improved, not to be perfect.
