Boredom Is Often Just Confusion in Disguise

When learning feels boring, it's frequently not because the material is dull — it's because you've lost the thread. Boredom during learning is often your brain saying "I can't find the point." You don't see how this connects to anything you care about, or you've missed a foundational piece and everything after it feels like noise.
The fix isn't to push harder through the boredom. It's to step back and ask: where did I lose the connection? What am I supposed to be able to do with this? Find the point, and the boredom usually lifts. If you genuinely can't find a reason why the material matters, that's valuable information too — maybe it actually doesn't matter for your goals.
The point
When learning feels boring, you've usually lost the thread of why it matters — find the connection and the boredom lifts.
