Reusing the Same Password Turns One Breach Into a Hundred

H Pavel Volkov · howtolive.guide ·

One site gets hacked, the leaked list of emails and passwords ends up for sale, and automated tools quietly try that exact combination on hundreds of other services within hours. If you reused the password anywhere else, that one breach you had nothing to do with just became a breach of your email, your bank, and everything in between.

A password is only as safe as the least secure site that has ever stored it. Use a password manager to generate a different one for every account — it costs a few seconds per login and removes the domino effect entirely.

The point
Reused passwords let a single breach on an unrelated site cascade into every other account that shares it.
