How to Take Screenshots That Actually Serve as Evidence

H howtolive.guide ·

When dealing with harassment, fraud, billing errors, or broken promises, screenshots are your first line of defense. But a cropped screenshot of a message is easy to dismiss. Always capture the full screen including the date, time, URL or app name, and the sender's information. The context is what turns a picture into evidence.

Take screenshots immediately — messages get deleted, pages get edited, accounts get deactivated. Save them to a dedicated folder with descriptive names and dates. If the situation is serious, send copies to your email so they have a timestamp independent of your device. The five seconds it takes to screenshot properly can save you months of frustration trying to prove something after the evidence disappears.

The point
Always screenshot with full context — date, time, URL, sender info — and save immediately, because evidence disappears fast.
