Clear Browser Site Permissions, Not Just History

Most people know to clear their browser history and cookies occasionally. But there is another layer most ignore: site permissions. Over time, websites accumulate permissions to send you notifications, access your camera, microphone, location, clipboard, and more. These persist even after you clear your history.
In Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings. In Firefox, check Settings > Privacy & Security > Permissions. Review what sites can do and revoke anything that should not be there. That random news site sending you notifications? That quiz page that asked for your location? Clean those out. It takes a few minutes and plugs holes you did not know existed.
The point
Clearing history does not remove site permissions — review and revoke camera, microphone, notification, and location access regularly.
