What to Do When a Company Goes Silent After Your Final Interview

H Pavel Volkov · howtolive.guide ·

You nailed the last round, they said they would follow up by Friday, and then nothing. Silence after a strong interview is common and rarely means what your anxious brain is telling you — hiring gets delayed by budget freezes, internal politics, and slow calendars far more often than by your performance.

Send one polite follow-up after the promised date passes, then set a firm mental deadline and keep moving other applications forward in the meantime. If two follow-ups bring no response, treat the door as closed and stop checking your inbox for it. Closure you give yourself is more reliable than closure you wait for.

The point
Silence after a strong interview is usually about internal delays, not your performance — follow up once, then keep moving.
