Separate Planning Time From Doing Time

H howtolive.guide ·

Planning and executing are two different mental modes. Planning requires stepping back, seeing the big picture, and making decisions. Execution requires diving in, staying focused, and following through. When you try to do both at once — stopping mid-task to reorganize your priorities — you do both poorly.

Set aside a specific time for planning (morning, Sunday evening, whatever works). During that time, decide what you'll do. The rest of the day, just do it — no second-guessing, no reshuffling.

The point
Planning and executing use different mental modes — mixing them kills both.
