When you're always the one reaching out, remembering, adjusting, and forgiving -- you're not in a partnership, you're on a shift. Love is supposed to flow in both directions. If you removed your effort and the whole thing collapsed, that tells you everything about who was actually holding it together. You deserve to be met halfway, not to carry the weight alone.
The point
If only one person is doing the work, it is not a relationship -- it is unpaid labor.
