Your Learning System Should Be Lighter Than Your Learning

There's a certain kind of person who spends three hours setting up a note-taking app and forty-five minutes actually studying. If you spend more time organizing your tools, configuring your workflow, and perfecting your system than actually learning, the system has become the obstacle. The most productive learners often use embarrassingly simple setups.
A good system fades into the background. It captures what you need, retrieves it when you need it, and otherwise stays out of the way. If your system demands constant maintenance, it's not serving you — you're serving it. A plain notebook and a pen still outperform any tool you spend more time tweaking than using.
The point
When your learning system takes more effort than the learning itself, it has become the obstacle.
