No Legitimate Tech Support Will Ever Call You First

Microsoft, Apple, Google, your bank — none of them will ever cold-call you about a problem with your account or computer. If someone calls claiming to be tech support, it is a scam. They will try to get you to install remote access software, share your passwords, or pay for services you do not need.
The simplest rule: if you did not initiate the contact, do not trust it. Hang up. If you are worried the call might be real, look up the official number yourself and call back. Never use a number the caller gives you — that just connects you to another scammer.
The point
Real tech companies never cold-call you — if you did not initiate the contact, hang up and call the official number yourself.
