CC Yourself on Important Form Submissions and Applications

When you submit an important form — a job application, a government request, a complaint, an insurance claim — you often have no record of what you actually sent. If the system loses your submission or the process gets delayed, you are left reconstructing from memory.
Whenever possible, CC or BCC yourself, take screenshots, or copy the text into a note before hitting submit. This applies to paper forms too — photograph them before mailing. Having a timestamped record of what you submitted and when turns "I think I sent it" into "here is exactly what I sent on this date."
The point
Always keep a copy of important form submissions — CC yourself, screenshot, or photograph paper forms before sending.
