Browser Extensions That Actually Help — And When to Stop Adding Them

H howtolive.guide ·

A few well-chosen browser extensions can save you hours. An ad blocker removes distractions and speeds up page loading. A password manager extension fills credentials securely. A read-later tool lets you save articles without keeping fifty tabs open. But more than five or six extensions start to slow your browser, create security risks, and add complexity without real benefit.

Audit your extensions regularly. Remove anything you installed "just to try" and forgot about. Check permissions — some extensions request access to all your browsing data, which is far more than they need. Fewer, better extensions beat a browser stuffed with tools you barely use. Keep it lean, keep it fast, keep it secure.

The point
A few essential extensions help enormously, but more than five or six starts to hurt — audit and remove what you do not actually use.
