Learn the Vocabulary Before the Theory

Every field has its own language — and if you don't speak it, even the best explanations sound like gibberish. You sit in a lecture or open a textbook and the sentences are grammatically clear, but the meaning slides off your brain because every third word is unfamiliar. Before diving into a new subject, spend dedicated time learning its core vocabulary. Not the entire jargon — just the 20-30 terms that appear constantly.

This single investment changes everything that follows. Suddenly explanations make sense on first read. Discussions become followable. You can actually think about the ideas instead of constantly pausing to decode the words.
