What to Do If a Friend's Account Sends You a Duplicate Friend Request

You get a friend request from someone already on your list, with the same photo and name. This is a common scam — someone copies the public profile picture and details to build a fake, then sends requests to the real friend list hoping a few people accept without checking.

Do not accept, and do not message the new request — message the real account instead. Warn your actual friend so they can report the clone, then report the duplicate profile to the platform yourself; do not click any link it sends you in the meantime.
