Never Plug In a USB Drive You Found — It Could Be a Trap

Dropping infected USB drives in parking lots, conference rooms, and lobbies is one of the oldest tricks in cyberattacks. Curiosity is the vulnerability they exploit. The moment you plug it into your computer, malware can install silently, capture your keystrokes, or give an attacker remote access to your system.
If you find a USB drive, do not plug it in to see what is on it. Hand it to your IT department if you are at work, or simply throw it away. No file on a found drive is worth the risk of compromising your entire digital life.
The point
Found USB drives are a classic cyberattack vector — never plug one in, no matter how curious you are.
