Storage Full? Here's How to Find What's Actually Eating Your Space

When your phone says storage is full, most people start randomly deleting photos or apps. But the biggest space hogs are often not what you expect. Messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram cache gigabytes of media. Streaming apps store offline downloads you forgot about. Browsers accumulate large caches. And "System Data" on iPhones can balloon to tens of gigabytes.
Go to Settings > Storage on your phone and sort by size. Check individual app storage — especially messaging apps — and clear their caches. On iPhone, offloading unused apps preserves your data while freeing space. On Android, use "Files by Google" to find large files, duplicates, and old downloads. Targeted cleanup based on actual data is far more effective than guessing.
The point
Check your phone storage settings sorted by size to find the real space hogs — messaging app caches and forgotten downloads are usually the biggest culprits.
