End-to-End Encryption Matters — Know Which Messengers Actually Have It

End-to-end encryption means only you and the person you are messaging can read the conversation — not the company running the app, not hackers who breach their servers, not governments requesting data. Without it, your messages sit readable on someone else's server.
Not all messengers are equal here. Signal has it by default for everything. WhatsApp has it for messages but stores metadata. Telegram only has it in "Secret Chats" — regular chats are not encrypted end-to-end. Regular SMS has none at all. Know what your messenger actually protects before sharing anything sensitive.
